Join us as we continue our successful Civil War theme programs by welcoming Dr. Frank Nickell, Assistant Director of the State Historical Society of Missouri. Dr. Nickell will be presenting “Across the River and Through the Woods: The Cape Girardeau Argus and the Civil War in Southest Missouri”. The Argus was a newspaper founded by W.H. Hamilton who arrived in Cape Girardeau with the 1st Wisconsin Cavalry. The paper was published from 1863 to 1871.
